“I am grateful for knowing Steve as I do, and the many families we have been able to direct his way over the years. A tremendous professional in the field of addiction and mental health, it is Steve’s ability to connect with people in a genuine way that makes him so effective as an interventionist. The ability that Steve has to communicate the reasons and process to expect when in crisis has always been very calming to our families as they enter treatment. I have faith every time, that Steve will help the family, whichever route is necessary. And that, by giving out his name, I have directed them to one of the best professionals in the country.”

“Having just celebrated 11 years of sobriety on 10/31 and finding out on the same day that Steve is launching his own practice is just what I have come to expect from the God (or HP if you prefer) Steve first introduced me to back in 2003. At the time I wasn’t even open to the idea of an “HP.” I just needed help with my back problems. My spouse was on my back about my drinking. So to make her happy and for lent (two birds with one stone) I gave up drinking and signed up for an IOP.
Steve ran that program and I liked him from the start. I appreciated his calm thoughtful approach and the way that every time I would ask him a question I always felt the answer was thoughtful and custom crafted just for me. The only problem with Steve was he kept insisting that I needed to read the big book, go to meeting and stop drinking. Actually, Steve never insisted on anything. His approach with me for the last 14 years has always been one of consideration and suggestions. This included his being honest with me about the alcoholism assessment he had me do and when I learned there were folks worse than me, I was off to the races again.
So roughly 3 years later on October 30, 2016 as I paced circles around my downstairs, wondering which firearm I should use to end my suffering, it is was a mystery to me why the fact that I still had Steve’s cell phone number in my address book popped into my head. I had nowhere else to turn and thanks to the God of my understanding that I believe in today, I called Steve even though it was well before office hours and he answered. By late morning I was in his office and just as if I had never left, he applied the same thoughtful approach to answering all my question and objections and before I left I had a spot reserved at 1st Step down in Monroe. I spent 28 days there and this time I took Steve’s original suggestion and read that book, I asked your HP (recall I didn’t have one) to keep me sober and I started going to meetings.
I am grateful for Steve every day of my life and couldn’t possibly recommend him more highly. If you or a loved one have a problem with addiction I suggest you give him a call. If you are ready to get help he will make sure you get and if not, he will be there when you are.”
