In addition to interventions, Steve offers these services to families and individuals affected by substance use, mental health, and behavioral disorders:
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Steve works with adults of all ages and adolescents and young adults ages 16-28. His approaches are all evidenced based utilizing a combination of Cognitive Behavioral approaches, Mindfulness,Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Individual counseling is provided either in the Charlotte office or virtually via a HIPPA-Secure video platform.
CASE MANAGEMENT
People who come in for counseling often need a variety of services and are often working with multiple helpers. Coordination of care is essential for success. Case management services include coordinating services between providers, referral to other services, community and online resources, and monitoring of progress.
AFTERCARE
While an aftercare plan can’t truly be created before an intervention, as it’s difficult to know what individual will need once intensive treatments end, families can remind the individual during the intervention that treatment will be extensive. For those who have completed detoxification programs or rehabilitation programs in the past, this could be a welcome reassurance. Your loved one will know they will have long-lasting support this time around.
RECOVERY TRANSITIONS
Recovery Transition is a gender responsive, co-occurring disorder. Recovery Enhancement Program is designed for adults leaving primary treatment. Recovery Transitions helps individuals continue their recovery when they return home or to a sober living environment. Group therapy, family support and relapse prevention are the key ingredients needed for sustained long-term recovery.
STRUCTURED FAMILY RECOVERY TM
Recovery starts after treatment ends. Both the person leaving treatment and their family need ongoing structure and support to sustain recovery. One of the most common errors is to assume that treatment fixes everything and that motivation equates with long-term progress and relapse prevention. What we do know is that there are eight essential ingredients in long-term sobriety. Structured family recovery incorporates these elements into a unified family recovery team that produces success. This simple but effective program involves weekly telephone sessions with the addicted loved one and their family. Each session is focused on recovery skills, accountability, and family healing.
